John Huntley (d.1676) and his wife (2) Jane were living at Roxbury when their children: Moses, Aaron, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah and Alice were baptised. By 1661, they were living at Lyme, Conn. A descendant John Huntley (b.1767) stated that the Huntleys were descendants of the family of Paisley, Scotland. Their ancestor Walter Fitz Gerald of Hamilton married Mary, daughter of Sir Adam Gordon of Huntley. Their descendants were known as Lord Paisleys. Three descendant brothers of this family John, George and Francis were employed by the Virginia Company and emigrated to the Colonies. Several generations of descendants are given.

John and his son and grandson Aaron were prominent in the settling of the Connecticut colony. They were on the forming committees and John was a loyalist but his son and grandson both fought in the revolution. One was a Captain.
